The list is growing! Thank you to the following parents for their support of Porter-Gaud and the 1867 Society this year.
Read More…The Porter-Gaud Foundation hosted the Headmaster's Society Oyster Roast on Gold Bug Island Thursday night to thank those who have given $1867 or more to the 1867 Society. A crowd of around 80 people enjoyed great oysters, chicken bog, drinks, and live music from Trick Knee. We are so grateful to those who joined us for this wonderful evening and for investing so generously in the students at Porter-Gaud.

Whether they are a football player with a heart for community service, a cheerleader with a curiosity for molecular biology, an artist with a mean spike, a guitar hero with a knack for computers, an academic wizard with a love for the martial and performing arts, an aspiring doctor with a laser strike on a soccer ball, or an all-star in the classroom who happens to be a world-class athlete, Porter-Gaud offers them the opportunity to pursue their passions.

As many of you know, Charilla, too, was an integral piece of the heart and soul of Porter-Gaud for twenty-two years. As her good friends, family and colleagues describe her, Charilla was passionate about always doing the right thing, showing respect and integrity, being honest, and being your very best self. Charilla always stood ready with a friendly smile and candy in her bowl for the generations of students who passed through her doorway. There is a hole in the hearts of many due to the passing of Charilla, and so there was a movement to create a scholarship fund that would continue in perpetuity in her memory and honor. It is the first of three weeks for the Heart and Soul campaign, and to date 47% of faculty and staff have already contributed to the campaign. The Foundation wishes to extend a big thank you to all of our faculty and staff, our parents, our students, and each member of our community for everything you do. If you would like to join the faculty and staff in contributing to the Charilla Barham Endowed Scholarship Fund, please click here.
